About this product

Flatweave & Kilim-Style Rugs

A flatweave has no pile: the yarn is woven rather than punched, so the rug is thin, dense and reversible. That thinness solves a specific and very common problem — a door that will not clear a rug, or a dining chair that has to slide.

It also changes the look. Where a tufted rug is soft and slightly plush, a flatweave reads graphic and precise, and it holds geometric patterns and hard colour edges far better because the weave itself defines the line.

Wool flatweaves are hard-wearing and warm underfoot; cotton is lighter, cooler and washes more easily, which is why it ends up in kitchens and children’s rooms. Both are reversible, so a rug that has taken a summer of sun on one side can simply be turned over.

Kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and anywhere a door has to open. Send your dimensions and design for a free mockup and quote on custom flatweave rugs today.

FAQ

Flatweave & Kilim-Style Rugs: quick answers

What is the minimum order for flatweave rugs?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why choose a flatweave over a pile rug?
Thickness. A flatweave is a few millimetres deep, so doors clear it and dining chairs slide across it. It is also reversible and easier to clean, at the cost of being firmer and less warm underfoot.
Do flatweaves slip?
Without an underlay, yes — more than a pile rug, because they are light. A felt-and-rubber pad cut to the same size solves it completely and adds enough cushioning to make the rug more comfortable too.
